Does Everything Happen For A Reason?

Does everything happen for a reason? In recent days, I have been with people in the middle of horrific losses.  Inevitably, someone steps up  and in an attempt to comfort, says, “Everything happens for a reason.”

That comment is rarely comforting in the painful moments.

But deeper than that, is it even true?

Many people default to this as a reaction to something that happens and is outside of our capacity to understand.

Sometimes, we want to think that there is something behind it — not just some random event.  But what does that phrase mean?  Does it mean that some force is trying to teach some lesson?

For many people, the answer is yes.

But does that make it so?

Does everything happen for a reason?

Let’s chat. . .

I listened to the podcast and I have to say I believe when individuals here that cliche “Circumstances/Situations/this particular event happened for a reason” – there is an outcome from it – I have come to the realization that yes, situations I have been in have happened for a reason which stemmed for a concern or matter which lead up to that point – could have been something that may have been prevented, self inflicted, or not preventable – then we have those circumstances where signs present themselves and we continue to push and press that situation knowing the outcome will come out just as we predicted or honestly we chose to ignore it and will have to accept the consequences from those events – I believe in every action their is a reaction – we all have the choice to choose what we will or will not do – the question is what is the decision and are we contemplating what we know is wrong and we continue in that decision and then blame the forces around those matters and start a blame game? – we all are responsible of our directions in life and yes things happen for a reason but I am a firm believer we are each accountable for how outcomes in our lives play out if we have control of them – but we also have unforseen circumstances which present where none of us may realize would have ever been a concern
